UNPACKING THE UNSPOKEN STRUGGLES OF A MAN

The Bible supports men's ministry by highlighting a need for men to lead, serve, and fellowship together to build stronger faith and families. The Bible calls men to be examples of faithful leadership in their homes and churches, to serve others with their gifts, and to sharpen one another through accountability and support, as exemplified by scripture like Proverbs 27:17.

Roles and responsibilities

Leadership: Men are called to lead spiritually in their homes and in the church, acting as examples of faith and commitment. This leadership is compared to Christ's leadership over the church.

Service: Men are encouraged to use their spiritual gifts to serve others and work diligently in all they do as if working for the Lord.

Prayer: The Bible explicitly calls men to pray together, as found in 1 Timothy 2:8.

Fellowship and accountability

Brotherhood: Scripture emphasizes that men need fellowship with one another, as "two are better than one" (Ecclesiastes 4:9).

Mutual sharpening: Men's ministry is seen as a way for men to "sharpen iron as iron" (Proverbs 27:17), helping them to grow in faith and live out their calling.

Mentorship: A crucial part of men's ministry involves older, more experienced men mentoring and guiding younger men to help them navigate a challenging life of faith.

Application and practice

Discipleship: A key goal of men's ministry is to make and equip disciples, teaching men to do the same for others.

Equipping for ministry: Men's ministries can provide opportunities for men to serve others through events and mission trips that use their talents and experience.
